IU "Real" Good Day Makeup Tutorial

Hi everyone! I have yet another Kpop-inspired tutorial to share with you today. It's one I recorded kind of a while ago and like last time, I had some troubles with the lighting. This always makes me hesitant to post since I want to produce really nice quality for you guys but -sigh- sometimes I feel like I put so much work into it, I might as well post.

In real life, I was super happy with how this look turned out. I don't think I look like IU myself, but the makeup on this look isn't too heavy and it's quite wearable minus the random lash wispies. It's very Springtime chic! The orange cheeks are unusual but so on-point with the orangey trends this season, no?

Products mentioned:
Paul & Joe Protective Fluid Foundation #15
Mac Select Coverup Concealer (NC30 mixed with NW15 to lighten it)
MAC Blot Powder in Medium Dark
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay Naked Palette (Buck, Darkhorse, Virgin)
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
Shu Uemura Lash curler
FAIRYDROPS Scandal Queen mascara
Sugar lashes (sorry, these were discontinued long ago)
Pretty & Cute Synthetic Lashes in Victoria (dramatic lashes)
Individual lashes from Sasa
Darkness lash glue
NYX Blush in Cinnamon
Ardell Lash & Brow Growth Accelerator
Lioele Real Vivid Matte lipstick in Sandy Beige
Rimmel lipstick in Airy Fairy

Here are the photos of IU that inspired this look. She's so ethereal like a wood nymph, I fell in love with the look right away!

And here are photos of my rendition:

And I decided to add one extra nerdy gif just because I had so many people say I look like IU as Pilsook in Dream High when I wear my nerd glasses. HAH!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! I have some more photos that I took with this makeup while wearing my regular clothes (because I liked this look so much) that I'll have to post next time. I just don't pull off the all-red sweater as well as the doll-like IU! My face is much more angular and she has softer features than me in general as well, so for some reason I give off a more "sexy" attitude with this makeup. LOL! You'll just have to wait and see next time...

;D

SNSD "Run Devil Run" Taeyeon Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Hello lovelies! Today I have another Kpop-inspired look, since it's been a while since I posted my last one. This is inspired from a SNSD (aka Girl's Generation or 소녀시대) video from last year called "Run Devil Run" and is the makeup that the leader of the group Taeyeon wears.

So to preface this video, I just want to note how much a pain in the butt this tutorial was to create!

While I was recording, the sun quickly went down making the video coloring really dark and off. Then, several times throughout recording I had issues with application. My Dolly Wink liner was drying out and caused a bunch of wing attempts to look bad, which is why I switched over to the Eyeko liner later on. The first crystal I used was too large and I had to switch. Then, after applying the lashes my eyes decided to become uneven with one double-lid and one monolid. Even with editing the video, I finished editing in Windows Movie Maker and it wouldn't export due to an error (omg hours of work gone)! Had to completely reformat each raw video to work in iMovie and re-edit completely. >_<

Please forgive any weirdness going on here because it took a lot to get here and I debated not uploading it at all! -_-;;;

Anyway, here's the video. Hope you enjoy it~

If you've never heard of Girl's Generation then definitely check out their leggy, 9-girl awesomeness below. They are basically the most popular girl group in South Korea and watching their videos is like virtually playing with Barbie dolls. They are pretty, sing well, and have catchy, synchronized dance moves. Definitely eye candy for sure! ^_^

Here are some screen caps I took of Taeyeon's makeup from the video. The basic concept is a clean lid with heavy black eyeliner which is winged twice, and crystals at the outer eye corners. She also has a clean, glowy complexion and thick brows.

Products mentioned:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay Naked Palette (Naked, Virgin)
Dolly Wink Liquid Liner
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
Eyeko Graffiti Pen Liner
Shu Uemura Lash curler
Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus Mascara
criss-cross 3/4 lashes (I think it's Darkness brand?)
Nail art crystals
Urban Decay lash glue
NYX Mosaic powder in #1 Highlighter
MAC Spaced Out blush
Anastasia Brows In Bloom palette
Lioele Real Vivid Matte lipstick in Sandy Beige
Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in 517

Circle lenses are Neo Vision Queen Grey lenses from Pinky Paradise.
Use code FRMHEADTOTOE for a free beauty gift w/ each pair of circle lenses purchased.

And my facey face:

I wanted to show my hair but it's kind of a fail since I have a ton of baby hairs at the front-sides of my face so it doesn't look good on me! T^T
Obligatory smile cause that's how I roll.

One last attempt at looking angsty like I am angry at a devil 정말 bad boy.

I also recorded a look on IU for her "Real" album cover look recently so you can look forward to that as the next Kpop tutorial I have coming up.

Just for kicks, let me know in the comments who your favorite Girl's Generation member is! Not gonna lie, I do love Taeyeon but Tiffany is SUPER super adorable as well and happens to be Korean-American. Gotta rep my Korean-Americans! ;)

Disclaimer: Lioele lipstick provided by Pretty and Cute. Everything else I bought with my own money.

2NE1 "Can't Nobody" CL Monolid Makeup Tutorial

Hello everybody! I have yet another inspired look to share with you guys. This time, I decided to fulfill a highly requested look that I pretty much fell in love with after getting the screencaps. It's CL's look in 2NE1's video for "Can't Nobody"!

And here is the original music video:

Some screencaps I took of CL from the video:

Products mentioned:

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #23
Urban Decay Primer Potion
L'Oreal HIP Cream Shadow Paint in 909
Urban Decay Naked Palette (Creep for lids, Buck for eyebrows)
Lioele All In One Gel Eyeliner
NYX Single Eyeshadow in Black
Mineral Magic Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Self Control
Aromaleigh Indelible Eyeliner Sealant
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
Sugar half-lashes in Angel
Lash Grip Adhesive in dark tone
Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus Mascara
MAC Spaced Out Blush
Lioele Blooming Pop Cherry Tint
Lioele Blooming Gloss in Vanilla Pink
Circle lenses are T-Top Ice Flower Grey lenses

And of course, my mean mug:

Eyes closed. I realized after editing that I didn't even use a highlight color. I didn't need one!

With my head tilted back a bit so you can see the full effect. Shadow always gets tucked under for monolidders, but I think it really works for this look.

I did have some people ask about my hair and I didn't do anything different, I just blowdried it instead of air drying it which tends to make it more straight and poofy. I think I may have used a bit of Garnier Fructis beachy paste stuff to style it, which I briefly talked about two years ago here.

I know this is a bit of a weird angle, but I thought it showed the eyes and lips off nicely. Gotta be more creative to show off the lid on monolid looks since the "in-between" blinks are so visually interesting. ^_~

And here I wanted to show off this really wickedly awesome necklace I received from Catherine of See Jewelry Online. It's pretty edgy without overwhelming the rocker-pretty look, imo. As soon as my friend saw this she got so excited because she had just seen something similar on Rachel Zoe a couple days before.

Here's the pic of it from her site. Thai silver and clear quartz! I totally *drool* over statement pieces like this!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the look and please do let me know if any of you decide to try it out! I was really pleased with the final look and heck, monolid girls could use a bit more variety and options with their makeup. Sometimes it's easy to fall into a routine of thick eyeliner or smokey eyes so hopefully this can switch things up a bit. :)

As always, let me know your requests for future inspired looks in the comments.

PS- My giveaway for Jewelry Payless is still running until November 15th so please enter if you'd like to win $50 worth of sterling silver jewelry! Second prize is $30 as well. ^_^
